In 1975 Pheeroan akLaff made his first music on the New York stages and began a career of performances and recordings with innovative composers. He is a percussionist contributing to four decades of music with an identifiable drumming language.

 

He is Executive Director of Seed Artists, and curator at Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning.
